Journey Maps started as a project for a small community as a throwback to what had been done before. However, the digital world was taking off and I just didn't think that it would be as successful as is. I spoke with business owners to get their opinions on what we should charge, where and how we should distribute, and more importantly what would be the end goal. So based on my talks, we decided that distribution in local HOA's, Apartment complexes and realtors we're going to be what we do. In approaching this idea we built and incredible network through the community, to deliver more than a map but, a sense of pride and a way to paint the big picture for the entire community. The end goal accomplished was an affordable way for small local businesses to reach new residents.

The way we reach new residents today in and overwhelming fast paced digital world is a refreshing throwback and old school idea, to a time when community pride was more prevalent. Today we see current trends reflect or refresh an old style. We believe people are wanting a simpler way of looking at their surroundings. Journey Maps paints that "big picture" of the community in many ways. It's about small businesses saying we're here to help and give that experience that generations before us had.

We think that you can get a great feel for what the area has to offer with a quick glance. The answer is not just one sided, we need many tools to promote our community and the small businesses that make it.

We're driven by something far greater than just making maps, we want people to embrace and support what makes each community unique. I don't think this means everyone will hang this map in their home and make a decision to buy a pizza or get tires, I think this brings awareness to where we live and those who are struggling everyday to keep the spirit alive for shop local!

We want a map in every community, so we can showcase that local pride in doing business in our own backyard.
